I want to say thank you for 200+ watchers, as of.. a couple days ago I think. But really, thank you all for the awesome support and comments and such. I don't do too many journals but this time around I have a lot more to share.
For example, now that the year is about to end, I'm looking back at my progress. This was the first year for two big important events in my artistic journey. For one, I started using the digital medium and slowly became more adjusted (but obviously I still have a lot more to learn)... and more importantly, I think this is technically year two of me drawing. This was the year that I decided that it was time for me to stop being a Copy-Ninja and start being a creator. Copying is excellent for learning rapidly and there's nothing wrong with it... when you're just beginning, but branching out and being a creator helps you in the long run. As a result, this is the first year where I started studying anatomy, taking art seriously and learning other things like environments and material studies.
During the summer I use to be afraid of drawing things. I had cool thoughts and I wanted them to get down on paper but I just couldn't do it. As of the end of the year I'm starting to feel more comfortable. If I want to draw a knight on a horse, I think I can make that happen now. It'll take decades to perfectly transfer down thoughts, but having a better visualization and technical advantage gives me more ambition.
I'm really excited to see what my art will look like next year's December. As a last thought, art is also very hard. More times than not I feel like quitting. But something that keeps me going is thinking what my art will look like 10 years from now. How will you ever know if you are meant to be one of the best artists in the world if you give up too early? You can actually apply that to anything. Hopefully that motivates you
Oh yeah, and remind me to get back to drawing dragons, I only got to like 15 out of 365 lol. Again, thanks for all the support.
